nConnect Northwest students tour nLight

Mission: Expand the number of high school students succeeding in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) subjects and prepare them to become future leaders and innovatores in the global economy. To achieve this mission, nConnect Northwest connects students to mentors and other career related learning experiences.

Small group mentoring
nConnect NW's small group mentoring program links ndustry professionals to small groups of students taking STEM classes. Mentors currently work  primarily with AP® students, but also may focus on senior projects related to alternative energy.

BizConnect
BizConnect connects students and teachers to local STEM industry professionals, providing businesses with a meaningful way to support education and to share their expertise, and students and teachers with opportunities to get hands-on exposure to the use of STEM concepts in the business world. Some examples of experiences offered through BizConnect include classroom online career coaches, guest speakers, company tours, job shadows, informational interviews, internships, etc.

STEM Mentoring
nConnect NW is providing mentors to a nine county region of Southwest Washington and Northern Oregon. STEM mentors may be college students pursuing a STEM degree, STEM professionals, or retirees from a STEM field. Mentors are paired with disadvantaged youth (ages 16-24) or dislocated workers, interested in pursuing STEM careers.

Advanced Placement® Support
nConnect Northwest offers free AP study sessions practice exams to students in Clark County. This is a great opportunity to learn from a subject area expert and meet AP peers from different school districts.
