Mentoring Advanced Programs for Students

Q:  What will it take to help Washington students excel in the global economy?

A:  Exceptional teachers, interested students, rigorous curricula, and meaningful relationships with people who show how education matters in the real world.

We work with school districts, teachers, high school students, and professionals from the business world to bring real-world relevance, rigor, and relationships to the classroom.  We do this through a combination of student mentoring, teacher training, and the provision of incentives.

We are backed by a broad range of private and public organizations from across Washington State and is funded through a combination of funds from the Washington State Legislature, private foundations, school districts, and individuals.

• Mentoring – We match business professionals to students and teachers in AP® courses to bring real-world relevance, rigor, and relationships to the classroom.
• Training – We provide extensive formal and informal training to AP® teachers, additional time on task for students, and cultivation of lead teachers to provide leadership to the program in their school by mentoring other teachers.
• Incentives – We provide financial incentives to teachers and students who demonstrate high performance in teaching and in the AP® subject matter.
