nConnect NW is a non profit organization that joins industry professionals with students, teachers and others with a goal of inspiring academic success and encouraging more individuals to pursue education, training with careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Small group mentoring
nConnect NW's small group mentoring program links industry professionals to small groups of students taking STEM classes. The small group mentor program starts in the beginning of the school year; please contact nConnect NW if you are interested in volunteering with the program in 2010.
Individual Mentoring
nConnect NW is providing mentors to a nine county region of Southwest Washington and Northern Oregon. STEM mentors may be college students pursuing a STEM degree, STEM professionals, or retirees from a STEM field. Mentors are paired with disadvantaged youth (ages 16-24) or dislocated workers, interested in pursuing STEM careers. nConnect is currently in need of Individual mentors with the following backgrounds:

BizConnect
BizConnect links students and teachers to local STEM industry professionals, providing businesses with a meaningful way to support education and share their expertise, and students and teachers with opportunities to get hands-on exposure to the use of STEM concepts in the business world. Some examples of experiences offered through BizConnect include classroom online career coaches, guest speakers, company tours, job shadows, informational interviews, internships, etc..
Advanced Placement® Support
nConnect NW offers free AP study sessions and practice exams to students in Clark County. This is a great opportunity to learn from a subject area expert and meet AP peers from different school districts.
nConnect NW's Mission: Expand the number of high school students succeeding in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) subjects and prepare them to become future leaders and innovators in the global economy. To achieve this mission, nConnect NW connects students to mentors and career related learning experiences
